Restoring The Furniture You Remember
Fine Furniture Restoration & Refinishing
Denver, Colorado
Every piece has a past.
What we do next matters.
Furniture tells its story through its materials, construction, craftsmanship and the marks left by time. At Kunicki Restoration, the goal is not simply to make something look new again. It is to understand the piece, preserve what matters, and thoughtfully prepare it for its future.

Figured Slab Waterfall Table
Finish Artistry
Commissioned to hand-finish this locally crafted maple waterfall table, with particular attention given to highlighting the dramatic figure of the wood and the contrast of the walnut butterfly keys. The finish was carefully developed and hand-rubbed to bring depth and clarity to the natural material while preserving its character.
The completed piece was donated for auction at the Colorado Symphony Orchestra Gala.
Haywood-Wakefield Dining Collection
Restoration & Refinishing
A complete Haywood-Wakefield dining collection restored and refinished with careful attention to the original design, warm blonde finish and distinctive sculptural forms. Pieces from this era require a careful balance between refreshing the finish and preserving the design character that makes them so recognizable.
Craftsmanship Built Over 26 Years
Every piece that enters my workshop is handled by me personally. After 26 years in the trade, I’ve learned that restoration isn’t about making furniture look new. It’s about understanding what should be preserved, what should be repaired, and what should be left alone.
Good craftsmanship doesn’t erase the character of the material. It works with it.
What Our Clients Say
“I’m an interior designer, so I’m naturally picky. The 42-year-old table had a lot of surface damage, and you’d never know it. His work is exceptional. If you have pieces that you care about, I recommend him with no reservations.”
Gail Doby
Interior Designer
“It was an outdated reddish/brown tone but he could see the potential in it. It’s now much more updated with a beautiful finish. It will be treasured for years to come.”
Rick & Julie Packard
“We have two pieces that belonged to great-grandparents. To say Chris restored these pieces would be an understatement. These dressers have lovingly been restored back to complete works of art. Not only does Chris have an eye for beauty and extreme talent with furniture, he clearly loves what he does.”
