Furniture Worth Keeping

Every piece requires a different approach. Some call for careful conservation. Others need complete refinishing, structural repair or a new vision for the finish.

After 26 years at the bench, my approach begins the same way: understand the piece, understand what the client hopes to accomplish, and determine the right path forward.

01 — CONSERVATION & RESTORATION

Respecting What Came Before

Significant furniture deserves a thoughtful approach. Restoration begins with understanding the materials, construction, existing finish and history of the piece before deciding what should—and should not—be changed.

The goal is not to erase age. It is to preserve the integrity, character and craftsmanship that make the piece worth keeping.

02 — CUSTOM REFINISHING

A New Vision for the Piece

Sometimes preservation isn’t the goal. A well-made piece may simply no longer fit the room, the home or the way its owner wants to live with it.

Custom refinishing allows us to rethink the surface while respecting the furniture underneath—through careful preparation, custom color development and a finish designed specifically for the piece.

The result should feel intentional, not simply refinished.

03 — REPAIRS & FINISH ARTISTRY

Solving the Difficult Problems

Some of the most important work happens long before the finish is applied.

Loose joints, damaged veneer, broken components, missing material and failed previous repairs often require a combination of traditional techniques, careful problem-solving and an understanding of how the piece was originally constructed.

Repairs should restore strength and integrity without becoming the story themselves.

THE PROCESS

From Your Home to My Workbench

Every project begins with understanding the piece, its condition, and what you hope to accomplish.

01 — Tell Me About the Piece
Send a few photographs, dimensions, and anything you know about its history. Tell me what you love about it, what concerns you, and what you hope to change—or preserve.

02 — Evaluation & Direction
I’ll evaluate the piece and recommend an approach based on its materials, construction, condition and your goals. From there, I’ll provide a clear scope of work and project investment.

03 — The Work
Every piece is handled by me personally in my Denver workshop. The work is approached deliberately, with careful attention to preparation, repair, color, finish and the character of the piece.

04 — Return & Delivery
Once complete, your piece is carefully prepared for its return home—ready for the next chapter of its life.
